Election Thursday 2nd and St Patrick’s Day Friday 17th March – school closures
Please remember that the school will be closed for one day on Thursday 2nd March as it will be used as a Polling Station.
St Patrick’s Day is a school holiday.
A number of P7 children were confirmed in their faith, at the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday. It was a great family occasion and as always the children were a credit to their parents. Thanks to the teachers and classroom assistants who prepared them for this very important sacrament. Their photographs are on the school’s Facebook page and they look angelic!
Congratulations to our third Accelerated Reading Millionaire!
We now have our third school Accelerated Reading millionaire! Congratulations to Arianna Drakeford in P7. You deserve that accolade Arianna!
School Fund Raising Event, 1st March
Miss Beattie will already have written to you to tell you about the fund raising event she has organised for next Wednesday. We really need your help as we want to commence a new Maths Accelerated Reading Programme for Numeracy. The AR for Literacy continues to be highly successful in raising children’s reading ages and we want to replicate that with their Numeracy scores.
Please encourage your family and friends to support the children’s sponsorship.
Invitation to Come To School in March
During Integration Week parents are invited to come to school for breakfast on Thursday 16th at 9 a.m. Please try to keep this date free as the children and staff will love to see you! Breakfast will be served in your children’s classrooms.
Active School Travel Programme
Our school has gained a place on Sustran’s Active School Travel Programme. The programme is an initiative which aims to provide schools with the skills and knowledge to get more children walking, cycling and scooting as their main mode of transport to school. Sustrans aims to encourage people to travel in ways that benefits their health and community. Mrs Withers will keep you updated with the various events that are planned for the future!
