Nursery & Primary One Intake Sept 2018

All applications for Primary One and Nursery intake for September 2018 must be received by Wednesday 10th January, before 12 noon. We have received more applications at this stage than this time last year so urge parents to ensure that they have submitted their application promptly. Applications for both Nursery and Primary One can be downloaded from the EA website or collected in person at the school office.

Breakfast Club

As the school canteen will be closed on Thursday 21st December, there will be no breakfast club that day. It will be open on Friday 5th January when school starts again.

Homework Club

The last club for P1 and P2 will be Wednesday 20th December as school will finish for all pupils at 12 noon on Thursday 21st.

After School Clubs P3 – P7

Parents are reminded that all P3-7 After School Club have now finished for this term. Clubs will start again in the new year and information will be provided in due course.

Nativity Play

P1 & P2 Nativity will take place this Thursday 14th December 9:30am and Friday 15th December 9:30am. P3-P7 will now also sing at both events. Please note that all pupils must come to school wearing black shoes. Remember, this is a ticketed event and unfortunately we do not have the capacity to permit anyone without a ticket. We hope to review these arrangements next year and maximise the community’s involvement in our celebrations.

School Admin Phone calls

Increasingly, we are getting up to a dozen calls per day to pass messages to children. We understand that plans change and as a result you need to contact the school to pass a last minute message to your child. However, I would ask that, where possible, you relay this information to your child before school. This would be very much appreciated as it also provides your child (ren) with a little bit more independence and at the same time allows the administrative staff to work productively on other areas. We thank you in advance for your co-operation. We would remind you that respect is encouraged in school and that includes the way parents speak to staff.

As you know, each month we generate attendance data and send letters to parents of pupils who have an attendance percentage of less than 90%. Parents are encouraged not to take children out of school for holidays as this can have a detrimental effect on their learning.

Winter Coats

A number of children have been arriving at school without a coat. Please ensure that your child brings a coat to school with them as our climate can be unpredictable.

Answer Machine

As you are aware, during busy periods, we operate an answer machine service. In order for us to deal with the reason for your call we would ask that you leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we can. We check the messages on a regular basis.

Cinema Trip details

All pupils will be going to Cityside Moviehouse cinema to see ‘Ferdinand’ on Tuesday 19th December. Pupils should wear school uniform and a waterproof coat.

Christmas Disco details

We will have a school disco on Wednesday 20th December at 1:00pm. Pupils may wear their ordinary clothes.

Mass on Sunday 17th December

Cliftonville Integrated Primary School will be leading the mass this Sunday at 12:00 noon in Sacred Heart Church. Please show your support for the pupils and staff.

Choir Competition

Tomorrow evening, Thursday 14th December, 10 pupils will be performing at the City Hall at 7:00pm. Please bring the pupils to the venue for 6:30pm wearing full school uniform.

Early pick ups from school

Parents are encouraged to arrange routine medical appointments outside of school hours and to take the travel time into account, i.e. after 3:15pm. Interruptions are disruptive to the class and your child’s learning. If there is a reason for picking up your child early from school please send a letter or the appointment card to the child’s teacher. Your child will only be sent for when you arrive at the office and not before this time as office staff sometimes have to leave the office and cannot leave pupils unsupervised.

***Date Reminder***

School will close for the Christmas holidays on Thursday 21st December 2017 at 12.00 p.m. (No dinners will be served on this date). School will re-open on Friday 5th January 2018 at the usual time.

Cub Scouts

Stephen the Scout Master will start Cub Scouts again on Monday 8th January 2018.

Mass of Commitment – postponed from Friday 8th December due to the snow. Father Daragh will re-schedule in January 2018.
