World Book Day
This will take place tomorrow, Thursday 1st March. As in previous years we will have a fun filled day with activities to encourage the love of reading. This year we will be completing activities linked to science to show the children that reading can be enjoyed and enhanced through a variety of topics.
As part of the celebrations we are encouraging the children to come into school tomorrow dressed as their favourite book character and if possible to bring the book along.

Flax Trust Anniversary Concert
Please note that this event was due to take place this Sunday 4th March but unfortunately has been cancelled due to the risk of adverse weather

Dinner Money
A reminder that the cost of school meals has been £2.60 per dinner from September 2017. Could parents also ensure that dinner money is paid in full, preferably on a Monday morning.

£10 notes
The Bank of England and the 3 Scottish banks have issued new polymer £10 notes. The old paper notes will no longer be legal tender from this Thursday 1st March and school will not be accepting them as payment. Please note that this only affects the Bank of England, Royal Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank and Bank of Scotland notes.

Integration Month
March is Integration Month – we take the opportunity to celebrate our integrated status and explore and learn more about each other.
The theme this year is Everyone Outstanding and throughout the month we will be running special events, teaching lessons around our theme and having our celebration Breakfast and Assembly.
Please note the following dates for your diary:
16th March – Integrated Breakfast
22nd March – European Food Tasting afternoon

After School Clubs
As you know, Cliftonville Integrated Primary School has been running ‘Ready to Learn’ and ‘P1 Homework Club’ through Extended Schools’ funding. The funding for this year ends at Easter and these clubs will cease then. However, we are currently looking at various options to provide after school clubs for the new term. Unfortunately, all options being explored incur a cost but we will update you in due course.

Nursery Visit
Sammy the Squirrel will visit Nursery on Tuesday 6th March to speak to the children about litter.

First Confession
P3 pupils making their First Confession will receive this Sacrament in a service at Sacred Heart on Wednesday 7th March at 11:00am.

School Photographs
If you are interested in ordering your child’s photo, please send the order form to the teacher by Friday 9th March. This should give Tempest Photography enough time to fulfil your order before Easter.

Communication
Please ensure that the school has your current mobile number so that you are kept up to date with any important messages which may be sent via our text messaging service. As you know, we send text messages and have to call home from time to time. The school will not be held responsible if you do not receive important information or we are unable to contact you if you have not provided updated contact details.

Winter Coats
A number of children have been arriving at school without a coat. Please ensure that your child (ren) brings a coat to school with them as our climate can be unpredictable. This is particularly relevant given the current weather forecasts for the coming days.

Staff Training
School will close at 2:00pm for everyone on Monday 19th March to allow staff training.

First Communion
Pupils will take First Communion on Sunday 13th May at 9:30am at Sacred Heart church.
